Tharaka Nithi: Kind neighbour offers title deed to help transfer of Kwa Mbae boy's brother to KNH

Tharaka Nithi, Kenya: A kind neighbour has gone out of his way to make sure that the ailing brother of internet sensation Musa Kihara will now get specialised treatment for throat cancer at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

The past week has seen little Musa, a young boy from Tharaka Nithi, engage in a whirlwind of events that have probably left him feeling dizzy.

In a video shared on TikTok, the little angel is seen eloquently and patiently giving the directions to his home after a boda boda rider spotted him sitting on the ground after school. The video touched many people and made quite a number of people now know that there is a place in Tharaka Nithi identified as Kwa Mbae.

Despite his newfound fame, it is emerging that little Musa was actually dealing with a lot from the home front, as he comes from a humble background, which means he misses out on many things. To add salt to injury, the family is also quite sad that one of their sons, Lewis, is currently battling throat cancer.

How much does Lewis need to be transferred?

Kenyans learnt that Lewis was in the intensive care unit (ICU) and needed KSh 2 million for treatment. The amount reduced to KSh 1.5 million, then KSh 800,000 after the Social Health Authority (SHA) paid KSh 600,000.

“We went to the home, and TikTokers raised KSh 200,000 for the family; we intend to have a major fundraiser at the home on April 26, to raise more cash. We are also welcoming other well-wishers in Nairobi for a meet and greet with the boy to give him more help,” TikToker Obidan Dela told NgGossips.

During the visit by Obidan and his group, the hospital said that they could release the boy for specialised treatment at KNH if the group paid KSh 250,000 and left a title deed behind.

“A kind neighbour has agreed to help us with the title deed of his land to facilitate the transfer to KNH,” he said.

“We will transfer the young boy today,” he said.

In a previous story, Musa received new clothes alongside his family after a well-wisher came to their rescue days after his chance encounter with a boda rider that changed his life.

The businesswoman who brought new school uniforms for Kihara also gifted the Meru family a bale of clothes, a gesture that touched many Kenyans.

Social media users trooped to the comment section and appreciated the kind-hearted donor, noting how smart Kihara looked.
