Gemma’s wedding gown was left soaked in black paint, her face and body stained just seconds before the ceremony was due to begin.
Yet in a remarkable show of determination, the mother-of-two refused to let the ordeal derail her day, The Mirror reports.
Retreating to a changing cubicle, she scrubbed herself clean and, with the help of an usher who rushed to find a replacement outfit, emerged ready to continue.
“We had waited for that day for so long. Nothing was going to stop me,” Gemma said. “I would have walked down the aisle in my knickers and with black paint over my face if I had to.”

Why was Gemma attacked by in-law?
The attack is believed to have stemmed from a long-running family feud. Neither Eastwood nor her husband had been invited to the wedding, tensions having escalated after their own marriage a year earlier.

“To have paint thrown over me by my brother’s wife changed my outlook on life,” she said. “It made me question whether I had done something wrong. This has turned the most special day of my life into the worst memory I will never forget.”
Following the incident, Antonia Eastwood appeared before Maidstone Crown Court, where she was sentenced for two counts of criminal damage.
Church denies guests entry to wedding
In another dramatic wedding, two groomsmen and a female guest were chased away from the church where they had gone to attend a wedding.
The two men were sent away because one had cornrows while his counterpart had dreadlocks. The third, a woman, was denied entry because she was in a figure-hugging dress.
Stunned, they questioned why the church refused to allow them entry, yet God looks at the heart and not the way the individual dresses.
