According to information obtained by Newsbase Nigeria, the suspect was known for offering job opportunities, especially to women. However, reports claim that his so-called job offers often came with disturbing conditions.
Sources say the man allegedly targeted young women who were in urgent need of employment. He would promise them high-paying jobs but reportedly demanded either large sums of money or inappropriate favors in return.
Several reports claim that some victims, out of desperation, agreed to his conditions in hopes of securing a better job.
After meeting with the women, it was alleged that the suspect secretly recorded their private encounters without their knowledge or consent.
Instead of fulfilling his promises, the man reportedly began threatening the victims. He allegedly used the recorded videos to silence them, warning that he would expose and publish the footage online if they ever spoke out or refused further contact.
One of the victims, however, decided to take a different step.
According to reports, the woman confided in a close friend, who then helped her plan how to expose the suspect. The two reportedly set up a meeting with the man under the pretense that another woman was interested in getting a job.
The suspect allegedly shared his location, unaware of the plan against him. The victim and her friend then involved the police, who followed them to the location and arrested the man.
During a search of his phone, authorities reportedly discovered more than 20 explicit videos involving different women. This discovery has raised serious concerns that the suspect may have been running the scheme for a long time.
Police have since taken him into custody, and investigations are ongoing to identify other possible victims and gather more evidence.
The incident has triggered strong reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing anger and calling for justice for the victims. Others have also used the opportunity to warn job seekers to be careful when dealing with unknown agents or unofficial job offers.
Authorities are expected to continue their investigation and may bring formal charges against the suspect in the coming days.
This is a developing story.
