The former Minister of Education and a Nigerian human rights activist, Dr. Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, has disclosed that she recently told the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Joash Amupitan, to his face at the town hall meeting in Abuja, that Nigerians don’t believe that anything he promises, about conducting free and fair elections, in 2027.
The former Education Minister made this disclosure in a long post she made on his official X handle, on Wednesday morning. She went on and made it known that when Nigerians are ready, they will collectively stand up against what she described as the “daily rubbish,” happening in the country.
Ezekwesili went further and stated it clearly that things will never change until Citizens make a collective decision to change our political and public leadership quality.
Some parts of his post read: “In March, I told Amupitan to his face at the Town Hall meeting in Abuja that we don’t believe anything he promises about conducting Credible Elections.”
In addition, the former Education Minister urged Nigerians to take responsibility as citizens and ask themselves important questions and as well answer the questions.
