Nairobi woman finds out about granny’s incident

“My grandmother woke up to attend an event at a neighbour’s house. She was accompanied by my two aunties. On the way, she diverted to another neighbour’s home and asked for a place to relieve herself. She was directed by the neighbour’s daughter. A minute later, they pounced on her, started beating her, and accused her of being a witch.

My aunties were later informed that an old woman was being beaten for allegedly being a witch. They rushed to the scene, only to be attacked as well and kicked out of the compound. One of my aunties sustained injuries to her head and legs,” she emotionally wrote.

The Nairobi-based woman said she had tried calling the neighbour regarding the incident, but he allegedly refused to speak to her, raising more questions.

Mukami later shared an update, saying her grandmother had been rescued by a few neighbours and family members, bringing some relief.

“Apparently, Gitonga and his sisters, one of them Beatrice Martine, dragged my grandmother through cow dung, poured water on her, beat her head with a Bible, and demanded that she ‘give them the witchcraft.’ She is now being taken to hospital,” she added.
