The couple was left stunned after welcoming an extra baby at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, as their last scan had indicated they were expecting triplets.
Rachael Simba and her husband Paschal instead welcomed quadruplets, one boy and three girls, leaving them with mixed emotions despite the overwhelming blessing.
“That day, I arrived at the clinic without any signs of labour, but later I began experiencing sudden pains and was taken to the operating room. That’s when the doctors discovered there were four babies,” Rachael said.

Her husband, who sat beside her hospital bed, showed her tender love and care as she became a mother of five.
Rachael’s water breaks in hospital
Paschal covered her with a leso and kissed her forehead, expressing his support and understanding during the emotional moment.
“She had gone for a regular clinic visit, and I asked her to go ahead as I followed later since we have a young child at home. When she arrived, she told me she had been put on bed rest, which surprised me since it was just a routine check-up. When I got to the hospital, doctors assured me that my wife’s condition was stable. Shortly after, I was informed her water had broken and she had to be rushed to the theatre for an operation. Later, I was told she had given birth to four babies. It was shocking because we were not prepared, we even thought she would deliver in June. It was both a surprise and a blessing, and we thank God,” he said.

The couple shared that the babies were born prematurely and would remain in hospital for close monitoring by doctors.
