Nine months later, she delivered healthy twin boys. At first, she thought one man was the father of both. But when the twins were about eight months old, that man asked for a paternity test.The results shocked everyone. He was the biological father of only one twin.
The mother then contacted the second man, who agreed to testing. DNA results showed he was the father of the other boy. Doctors explained the rare event as heteropaternal superfecundation. This happens when a woman releases two eggs in the same menstrual cycle and each egg is fertilized by sperm from a different man.
The twins shared the same mother but grew in separate placentas.The case, first reported in 2022, has been shared widely on social media again this week. Experts say only around 20 such cases have been recorded worldwide. The mother and twins are doing well, and the story continues to amaze people online.
