The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with 632,788 candidates now able to check their scores.
The nationwide examination began on Thursday across 966 computer-based test centres, with about 2.2 million candidates expected to sit the exercise.
In a statement issued on Friday night, JAMB spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, said candidates who wrote the examination on April 16 could access their results immediately.
“The results of candidates who sat the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16 April 2026, have been released and are now available for viewing,” he said.
According to the board, candidates are to send UTMERESULT by SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
Benjamin, however, noted that result printing had not yet commenced.
He also warned candidates against any attempt to manipulate their scores through digital means, describing such actions as criminal offences.
“The Board treats such misconduct with the utmost gravity,” he said.
“Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means.
“Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law.”
JAMB added that additional results would be released in batches as the examination progresses nationwide.
