In a recent video on Fox Tv, Donald Trump declared that preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains a top priority, while also reflecting on actions taken during his time in office.
“I will never let that happen, and neither should any of our past presidents,” Trump said, reaffirming his stance against Iran obtaining nuclear capabilities. He argued that the issue has persisted for decades, adding, “This situation has been going on for 47 years and should have been handled long before I arrived in office.”
Trump pointed to measures he said were critical in countering Iran’s ambitions. “I did many things during my two terms in office to stop the quest for nuclear weapons by Iran,” he said, highlighting what he described as decisive actions taken to weaken the country’s military leadership.
Among those actions, Trump referenced the killing of a top Iranian commander. “First and perhaps most importantly, I killed General Qasem Soleimani in my first term,” he stated. He described the figure as “an evil genius, a brilliant person, a horrible human being,” blaming him for developing tactics that targeted U.S. forces.
Trump further argued that removing the commander altered the strategic balance. “Iran would have been perhaps in a far better, stronger position if he lived—we would have had probably a different conversation tonight,” he said.
