The story of Nakuru woman Anita Mugweru has shocked the entire nation, with her family demanding justice.

Anita was stabbed to death by her KDF husband, Captain Edwin Muthomi, at the St Mary’s Estate in Nakuru County.

The 29-year-old mother was stabbed after an argument with her husband. Anita was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead a few minutes after her arrival at the hospital. Muthomi was later arrested and is being held in a police cell.

According to family, Anita and Muthomi had been involved in a long-term dispute after efforts to iron out their issues and live in harmony had failed. Anita had planned to part ways with her husband on Saturday, 18 and had invited her parents to her place. Speaking to the press, the deceased’s heartbroken mother revealed that her daughter had reported that Muthomi had threatened her several times, and despite reporting him to the police, nothing was done.

“Edwin used to threaten Anita. Many times she called me saying he had threatened to kill her. All I am asking is for the government to follow up on this case and ensure justice is served. What he has done to us is not something that will go away. It has hurt us forever,” a teary Serah Mugweru shared.

What kind of person was Anita Mugweru?

Influencer Dave Sirikal, who was Anita’s collegemate, penned an emotional tribute, remembering her as a great friend.

He shared photos that he and Anita took together with other classmates back in 2015 while still studying at Egerton University, reminiscing about their good old times.

In another story, Anita’s househelp narrated how Muthomi murdered his wife. She claimed Muthomi accused Anita of infidelity before an argument ensued between the two.

The shaken househelp recalled how the KDF captain entered the kitchen and took a knife before stabbing Anita.

She narrated how her boss left the house in pain, trying to call for help, but only one came out to help her as the rest looked from their balconies. The househelp narrated how they hailed a boda boda and took her to the hospital, but unfortunately, she died just a few minutes after arrival.
