Viral TikTok sensation has warmed the hearts of Kenyans on social media.

Musa Kihara, also known as Mbae, is a five-year-old boy from Tharaka Nithi County, and he went viral in April 2026 after a boda boda rider recorded and shared a TikTok video of him.
The video captured Musa’s innocent and remarkably confident explanation of how to find his home using the landmark ‘Kwa Mbae’.

While walking home from Gituja Primary School, the tired little boy was offered a ride by a motorcycle rider.

His repetitive and polite phrasing, ‘unajua kwa Mbae? (Do you know Mbae’s?)’ quickly became a popular social media slogan.
When the video went viral, it highlighted Mbae’s family situation, and Kenyans sympathised with them.
After the video went viral, several kind-hearted Kenyans came forward looking for Musa so they could gift him and his siblings.
Some requested a phone number to send monetary support, while others planned to visit him and deliver gifts in person.
County government official Geoffrey Mosiria visited the young boy and was seen holding him as he played with a toy car.
The young boy began tearing up, and Mosiria, who was holding him, consoled him. Mosiria revealed that Mbae’s nine-year-old brother was in the ICU.
He had throat cancer, and his parents needed KSh 3 million. Kenyans had fundraised KSh 300,000.
Mosiria also shared the family’s contact information, where Kenyans could send money.
“This is Mbae, who is crying. His brother has throat cancer, and Kenyans, we are asking you to stand by the family. He will get well soon. I have given you this car, and I will bring you a bike. Please fundraise for him. His brother is in the ICU after getting out of the theatre. We fundraised KSh 300,000 yesterday, and they need KSh 3 million. They have a bill of 760,000. He urged Kenyans to support the family.
“He is six years old, and his sick brother is nine years old. Kenyans, let’s support them, and I know your shilling will contribute to something,” he added.
