Vihiga County – Chamoli Village in Kigama Sub-location has been plunged into grief and disbelief following a disturbing incident that has shaken residents to their core.

Fear and shock gripped residents after a 35-year-old man allegedly killed his own child, aged just two years and four months, before burying the body within the family compound.
How Vihiga grave was discovered
A source told NgGossips that the incident came to light when a relative noticed unusual patches of disturbed soil within the homestead.
“The father lied that the baby had been taken to the hospital for treatment, but efforts to locate the toddler for two days were futile,” the source explained.

The discovery raised alarm, prompting family members to perform a closer inspection that led them to a part of the compound they believe was a shallow grave.
According to the interviewee, the area, which had a large patch of freshly disturbed soil, was covered with a swarm of flies.
Police officers from the area have since visited the scene and launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Police to exhume baby’s body
Authorities say plans are underway to exhume the body to allow for a post-mortem examination that will help establish the cause of death.
It is believed the child may have been buried during the night leading into Monday, although investigators are still piecing together a full account of what transpired.
“The child’s father, who is the main suspect, is currently on the run,” the source added. “There are too many bizarre deaths. I wonder what is happening to our county this year.
Police have launched a manhunt and are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating and apprehending him.

The incident comes barely three days after another tragic incident in Vihiga County, where a wife stabbed his husband to death.

The 24-year-old suspect, identified as Eunice Nanzala, is currently in custody at Mbale Police Station over the incident.
Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries before he received treatment, leaving behind young children who now have no parents.
