Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has delivered a strong and direct message to Nigerian political leaders, cautioning against electoral malpractice and the imposition of leadership on unwilling citizens.
Speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections, Enenche criticised the desperation for power, questioning why individuals would seek to lead people who have clearly rejected them. He condemned acts such as bribery, election rigging, and violence, insisting that leadership should be based on the genuine will and acceptance of the people.
The cleric emphasised that true leadership comes from being wanted and needed by the people—not forced upon them through manipulation or coercion. He further warned against the use of violence to secure political power, urging leaders to embrace integrity and accountability.
Enenche also called on Nigerians, including religious leaders, to speak out against wrongdoing, stressing that silence in the face of injustice amounts to complicity. According to him, citizens must no longer remain passive but actively stand against actions that threaten the nation’s future.
He concluded by expressing hope that the cycle of poor leadership would be broken, declaring that those responsible for past misgovernance should not be allowed to return to power.
