A Nairobi family has been left shaken and searching for answers after the grave of a beloved woman was desecrated under the cover of darkness, in what relatives describe as a deeply disturbing and deliberate act.

Otuma Ongalo shared an emotional account of how unknown individuals entered his late sister’s compound in the middle of the night during heavy rainfall and tampered with her grave.

He told NgGossips that the incident appeared intentional and possibly ritualistic, raising unsettling questions about the motive behind the act and the mindset of those responsible.
Ongalo spoke of his heartbreak and disbelief, questioning how far malice can extend, even towards the dead.

He reflected on his long-held belief that his sister, Linah Kibutukhani, had passed on peacefully and in faith, and expressed anguish that her resting place could be violated in such a manner.
“That stele is too heavy for five people to carry,so ruling out the possibility of heavy rains or winds pushing it aside,” Linah’s daughter, Karol Namuleyi, added.

Family unmoved by grave vandals
While the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, the case has sparked concern among members of the public.
Many condemned the act as both inhumane and culturally offensive, given that graves are regarded as sacred spaces in Kenya.
In many communities, causing disturbance to a grave is seen as a serious affront to both the deceased and their loved ones.
Despite the pain, Ongalo ended his message on a solemn note, expressing hope that his sister continues to rest in peace, even as he wished that those responsible would be confronted by the weight of their actions.
