Amy Brown became pregnant shortly after finishing high school, a development that would alter the trajectory of her life forever.

In a YouTube interview on Shared Moments With Justus, she opened up about surviving not one, but two abusive relationships with Kenyan men.

How Mzungu Mjanjez conceived first child

It all started when she got a temporary marketing job in Mombasa and her high school sweetheart joined her, a whirlwind romance that left her pregnant.

Still young, with an unstable job and unmarried, her parents felt disappointed having spent so much money to put her through school.

While her mother was gracious, her father was deeply disappointed to the point that their relationship was severed.

“I bet my mum understood me as a fellow woman, and since she also gave birth to me while young, it was easier to put herself in my shoes,” she started.

Mzungu Mjanjez mistreated by boyfriend

The red flags started when her then-boyfriend distanced himself throughout the pregnancy, only to reappear when she gave birth.

He sought reconciliation, but what appeared like a reunion sent her down a dark period as the man started mistreating her shortly after the two moved in together.

“Every time I came home from work, he would be waiting for me with a bottle. He beat me in front of my son, so much that the boy grew into an introvert,” she shared.

She recalled one incident when the man, who believed she was cheating on him, hit her with their son’s toy, an attack that left her with a torn ear.

What broke her heart the most was that every time she reported the matter to the police, her case was dismissed.

Mzungu Mjanjez conceives second baby

During her volatile come-we-stay marriage, the duo conceived a second child, compounding her already bad situation.

Pushed to the wall, she decided to let go of the relationship and started raising her children as a single mother.

Believing she had healed from the past, she met and fell in love with a Kalenjin man on TikTok, a relationship that spiralled out of control in its early stages.

Apart from dating multiple women, he lied about his life, contributed nothing financially, and became violent as well.

Second lover nearly killed Mzungu Mjanjez

As it turned out, the man was in the habit of dating older women for upkeep. Amy says he visited her house one day and just never left.

“Would you believe he even lied that one of his relatives in the village was dead, only for me to learn years later that she was still alive,” she recalled.

Pushed back into the dark hole she had worked so hard to pull out of, Amy could no longer tolerate the disrespect and chose to call it quits.

Her decision was informed by the fact that the man threatened to kill her during one of their heated confrontations.

Mzungu Mjanjez now single

She managed to throw him out of the house with the help of security guards, but she had lost valuable time and money he’d kept borrowing but never returned.

Amy is now healed and can talk about her past with a smile, but she has since decided to remain single and focus on raising her two children.

She has also been building herself as a content creator under the brand name Mzungu Mjanjez, a venture she hopes to push to the highest possible levels.
