Kericho County – The family of Amos Kipngetich is beginning to find comfort and renewed hope after a promise made by Belgut legislator Nelson Koech started taking shape.

Kipngetich died in a tragic helicopter crash alongside a former Emuria Dikir MP, Johana Ng’eno, on Saturday, February 28, in Chepkiit, Mosop, Nandi County.
Koech’s promise to Kipngetich’s parents
Daktari Kelvin Kipchirchir Ufa told NgGossips that Koech visited the bereaved family in Emuria Dikir in early March and pledged to build a new house for Amos Kipngetich’s parents.

He said the gesture was meant to honour what he described as Kipngetich’s long-held dream of ensuring his family lived in dignity and decent shelter.
Just weeks later, that promise is visibly coming to life. Construction work on the house is now at an advanced stage, with the structure already drawing attention from the residents.
Speaking during a recent visit to the construction site, Koech reiterated his commitment to supporting vulnerable families and standing by his word.
“Nilifika huko nikaona kuwa I had a task to do. The family deserves a good shelter, and I have done it, I’m almost completing it,” he said.

The progress has sparked widespread admiration across the community, with many commending the MP for following through on his pledge and offering practical support rather than words alone.
Once completed, the house will stand not only as a new home for Kipngetich’s parents but also as a symbol of compassion and a fulfilled promise in the wake of tragedy.

Amos Rotich’s final moments alive
Meanwhile, it emerged that Amos Rotich survived the initial impact and was pulled from the wreckage, clinging to life for roughly 30 minutes.
During the requiem mass, his family recounted his harrowing final moments, indicating that his last concern was not his own pain but the fate of the late MP.

According to his relatives, Amos tried to escape the ill-fated aircraft and kept asking about Ng’eno’s condition before he succumbed to his injuries.
The family also shared their heartbreak that their kin died before starting his own family, and only months after securing a job through Ng’eno’s support.
