A routine morning in South C, Nairobi, turned into a dramatic showdown when a shopkeeper bravely confronted two men who had attempted to rob his business in broad daylight.

The incident, which was captured on CCTV, shows the suspects walking into the shop belonging to a local social media personality identified as Abdi Malik.
Moment Malik was ambushed
They seemed confident their plan would be swift and successful. However, what they likely assumed would be an easy target quickly unravelled.

According to the footage from the scene, Malik, who has a background in security, immediately sensed something was off.

“These guys tried to rob my bro, Maliks, at his shop in South C this morning. My dawgie is safe, but it was crazy. Y’all, please be safe,” Post Carlone wrote on X.
Drawing on his training, he recognised that the weapon presented by the attackers was not genuine. Instead of complying, he stood his ground.
Malik confronted thugs
In a bold and unexpected response, Malik confronted the two men, overpowering them before chasing them out of the shop.
The outdoor security camera footage later captured the pair fleeing in visible panic, running for their lives as the attempted robbery spectacularly failed.
Kenyans on social media have praised Malik’s courage, noting that such incidents often leave victims shaken and vulnerable.
Many described his actions as both brave and rare, particularly in situations involving supposed firearms.
For many, the incident serves as a reminder that not every criminal plan goes as intended, and that sometimes, courage and quick thinking can turn the tables in an instant.

Kisumu thugs caught stealing on CCTV
The incident comes a week after CCTV cameras captured another disturbing incident outside a police station in Kisumu county.
It started with a young man walking alone along the road at around 6 pm, seemingly in a hurry while holding his phone.
A few seconds later, two men riding on a boda boda approached from behind, after which the pillion struck him on the head with a heavy metal object.

He fell to the ground immediately after the impact, rendering him unable to defend himself or escape while the pair robbed him of his valuables.
