She acknowledges the quiet strength they have shown, even in moments when they thought she wasn’t watching.

“I know things have been hard. I know you’ve seen things and felt fears that children should never have to carry,” she writes, recognising the emotional toll the illness has taken on her young family.

Sitawa’s children her heroes

Sitawa describes her children as the very reason she continues to fight, drawing strength from their presence and the future she dreams of witnessing.

In a poignant reversal of roles, she calls her children her “heroes”, crediting their courage and faith for sustaining her through the most difficult days.

“When the cancer feels heavy and the days feel long, it is the thought of your smiles, your voices and your futures that gives me the strength to take the next breath,” she shares.

It is a reminder that even in the face of illness, resilience often becomes a shared effort within families. Her promise to them is unwavering: that she is giving everything she has to the fight.

“I fight because I want to see you grow, to see you chase your dreams and to be the one standing in the front row cheering for you,” she writes, painting a picture of hope that stretches beyond hospital walls.

Sitawa’s promise to her kids

But perhaps the most powerful part of her letter lies in its reassurance as she reminds Kinya and Vanessa that her love is constant and unbreakable enough to carry with them no matter what lies ahead.

She closes her message with faith, affirming her belief that their story is not hers alone to carry, as God is involved, a quiet declaration of hope amid uncertainty.

For many who read her words, Sitawa’s letter is more than a personal message: it is a universal reflection of motherhood in its purest form: fierce, selfless and enduring, even in the face of life’s most difficult trials.

Sitawa once mistreated Vanessa

In an earlier revelation, she shared how her illness and the use of drugs to manage pain, unintentionally led her to torment her children, leaving them fearful and withdrawn.

She described a time when her daughter Vanessa became distant, avoiding her and even choosing to sleep on a chair instead of their shared bed.
