Gunmen have killed a pastor, Emmanuel Ezeoikwe, in Zinal Village, Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
NGGOSSIPS Metro learnt that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the victim’s residence.
Confirming the killing in a statement on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the attack was reported to the police at about 6:30am.
“On April 21, 2026, at about 6:30am, the command received a report that at about 12:48am on the same date, suspected gunmen invaded the village and shot the victim.
“Upon receipt of the report, police operatives of the command swiftly moved to the scene, where they found the lifeless body of the victim and rushed him to a hospital.
“He was, however, confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while the corpse was deposited in the hospital morgue for autopsy,” the statement read.
He said three empty AK-47 shells were recovered at the scene.
The police spokesperson added that the command had commenced an investigation into the incident. According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, has ordered a discreet probe and deployed tactical teams to track down the perpetrators.
He urged members of the public to remain calm and provide useful information to assist the investigation.
About 15 to 20 gunmen with Fulani accents reportedly attacked Bege Baptist Church in Yaribori (also known as Yari Bori) village, Kafur Local Government Area, and shot the Rev. Emmanuel Na’allah Auta and Mallam Samaila Gidan Taro, according to news outlet TruthNigeria.
