The National Working Committee, NWC, of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, under the leadership of Bala Yunusa Mohammed has announced the successful conclusion of the annual verification exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
In fulfillment of INEC’s statutory mandate as the regulator of political parties, the NNPP said that officials of the Commission meticulously vetted its administrative structures, membership records, and operational capacity.
NNPP said the seamless execution of this exercise serves as a definitive official validation of the Bala Yunusa Mohammad-led NWC.
“It effectively silences the delusions of grandeur harbored by expelled members and reaffirms our standing as the only recognized leadership of the NNPP,” the party’s statement said.
The party noted that “the desperate, yet futile, attempts by expelled members to obstruct INEC from performing its lawful duties at our recognized headquarters. Their failure is a victory for the democratic order.
“Expelled members’ reliance on purported court orders is a classic case of legal shadow-boxing. We state categorically that any judgment they currently cling to was obtained per incuriam – delivered in error without the benefit of the full facts regarding the party’s internal processes.
“Crucially, there is a subsisting judgment from the Federal High Court, Abuja, which clearly affirms that these individuals are no longer members of the NNPP.
“By failing to bring this judgment to the attention of subsequent courts, they have deliberately withheld material facts to mislead the judiciary. These deceptive tactics will be fully exposed as we move toward the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
“The law does not reward those who manipulate the judicial process to sustain a failed political project.
The party has been successfully purged of the toxic influence of those transactional politicians who sought to stifle our growth for years, and though they have sought to use the judicial system, we believe that the Supreme Court will do substantial justice to the matter.”
The NNPP said it is waxing stronger, more united, and more focused than ever before as we prepare for the 2027 general election.
The statement added, “In a clear demonstration of this readiness, the party has already finalized and communicated its primary election schedule to INEC.
“We are fully prepared to conduct primaries for House of Assembly, Governorship, House of Representatives, Senate, and Presidential positions on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, utilizing the Consensus mode across all wards of the Federation.
“We invite all Nigerians – youth, women, and professionals alike – to continue registering with the NNPP across all 8809 wards in all 774 Local Government Areas. We are building a party rooted in true grassroots democracy and equity for all.”
The NNPP said it is entering its most glorious chapter, calling on its loyal members to remain steadfast and undeterred while telling its detractors that the train has left the station.
