The family of a 19-year-old girl have raised serious questions after their daughter was found hiding under the bed of a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officer in Kole District.

The young woman had been at home unwell but reportedly left without informing any of her family members, allegedly to visit the CID officer.
Her father, William Olila, said he spotted her on a boda boda while returning home from work and decided to secretly follow her.
How was missing girl found under CID officer’s bed?
“She didn’t see me. I started trailing her up to the police barracks, where she went and entered the house of the OC CID, Dickens Louis Ebong,” he said to Daily Monitor.

Olila further noted that upon arrival, he knocked on the door, but Ebong delayed opening it until he was forced out.
Before approaching the house, the girl’s father called the town mayor and the area Assistant Resident District Commissioner, Samuel Odongo, who promptly arrived at the scene and forced the CID officer out of his house.
“We searched his house and found my daughter hiding under his bed,” he said.
Odongo said the suspect was very arrogant, despite the girl being found in his house. As a result, he contacted Ebong’s immediate supervisor, who immediately ordered his arrest.
Was the CID officer arrested?
Following the report, police in the North Kyoga Region apprehended the senior officer on charges of attempted forceful sexual relations.
Preliminary reports indicate that Ebong allegedly lured the young girl into his house, located at the Kole Police Barracks, on April 21, where he is accused of attempting to forcefully have sexual relations with her.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, adding that investigations had already commenced.
“Efforts are underway to formally retrieve and analyse the medical report, interrogate the suspect further, and obtain documentary proof of the victim’s actual age. The police condemn all acts of sexual violence, especially those involving abuse of authority, and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring justice is served,” he said.
