A legal practitioner and emerging political figure, James Ogochukwu Eze, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement addressed to the people of the constituency on Sunday, Eze said his decision was driven by a deep sense of responsibility and a commitment to restore purposeful representation. He noted that despite the abundance of talent, strength, and natural resources in the constituency, the benefits have yet to fully reflect the collective efforts of the people.
“My dear people of Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency,
With a deep sense of responsibility and an unwavering commitment to service, I, Barrister James Ogochukwu Eze, hereby formally declare my intention to contest for the office of Member representing our constituency in the 2027 General Elections under a party which I will as well made open in the coming days,” he stated.
The aspirant outlined a vision centered on youth empowerment, agricultural development, and inclusive leadership. He described himself as a servant-leader committed to integrity, accessibility, and delivering measurable impact across communities.
The statement added: “This decision is born out of a genuine desire to restore purposeful representation, empower our youths, and unlock the full agricultural potential of our land. Our constituency is rich in talent, strength, and resources, yet the benefits have not matched our collective efforts. It is time to change that narrative.
“I present myself as a servant-leader who is committed to integrity, accessibility, and measurable impact. Together, we can build a future where our youths are empowered, our farmers are supported, and every community feels the presence of responsive leadership.”
