A close friend of the late Anita Mugweru, a 29-year-old Nakuru woman who was allegedly killed by her husband, Kenya Defence Forces Captain Edwin Kaunga, has shared chilling details.

Kaunga is alleged to have killed Anita a few days ago after stabbing her to death, as their child watched in horror; he is currently in police custody.

Details reaching NgGossips indicate that the military officer stabbed his wife with a kitchen knife as they were having a domestic altercation over alleged infidelity.
According to the househelp, Anita was pronounced dead upon arrival in the hospital.
“The two were accusing each other of infidelity when the husband stabbed the deceased using a kitchen knife. The deceased was rushed by Good Samaritans to Nairobi Women’s Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival,”a police report indicated.
Anita Mugweru’s best friend speaks
It is now emerging that the KDF captain had repeatedly threatened his wife and that there were constant fights between them.
This is according to Anita’s best friend, who shared that the news of her murder was no surprise given the threats she had received from her husband.
She claimed that the suspect had told Anita repeatedly that he would end her life.
“The girl who was killed is my best friend. And he’s been telling her he’s the one to end her life. When I heard the news, I knew he had definitely killed Anita. He deserves to rot in jail for life,” she said on a Facebook thread.

This was also echoed by Anita’s mum, who tearfully recounted the many times her daughter told her about her husband’s threats.
Kenyans demand justice after the death of Anita Mugweru
Kenyans are now joining Anita’s family in seeking justice over her brutal murder, as they also condemn the rising cases of femicide in Nakuru county. Here are some of the comments:
