A Lagos-based entrepreneur, Ogegbo Ademola Babajide, popularly known as “Locomotive,” is positioning himself at the intersection of technology and creative enterprise with plans to deploy blockchain-driven solutions aimed at expanding global earning opportunities for Nigerian youths.
Babajide, founder of Stuph Chain LLC and promoter of a forthcoming digital payment platform, Dogemeatpay, said his focus is on addressing long-standing financial barriers faced by creatives seeking to access international markets.
Speaking on his vision, he explained that the yet-to-launch platform is designed to enable seamless cross-border transactions, reduce reliance on intermediaries, and facilitate faster payments for artists, freelancers, and digital entrepreneurs.
“The goal is to eliminate delays and give creators direct access to the value they generate, regardless of location,” he said.
Operating largely out of Lagos’ commercial and cultural hubs, including Victoria Island, Lekki and Yaba, Babajide has built a reputation within nightlife circles, a perception he said often overshadows the technology-driven work he is undertaking behind the scenes.
According to him, his initiative under Stuph Chain is focused on building a blockchain-based ecosystem that allows creatives to retain ownership of their work through tokenisation and direct monetisation channels.
“Our vision is centred on ownership. Creators should not lose control of their intellectual property or depend entirely on third parties to access global markets,” he added.
Industry observers say such initiatives reflect a growing trend among young Nigerian entrepreneurs leveraging Web3 technologies to bridge gaps in the country’s creative economy.
Babajide also disclosed that he is working with emerging talents within his network, describing the group as a growing ecosystem of creatives positioned to benefit from the platform upon its rollout.
While details of the launch timeline remain undisclosed, he noted that the project is being developed with a focus on scalability and security, key considerations in the rapidly evolving blockchain space.
Beyond technology, Babajide has expressed interest in supporting Nigeria’s combat sports sector, citing the need to attract investment and international recognition for local athletes.
Despite reported associations within entertainment and sports circles, he maintains a low public profile, a strategy he described as deliberate.
“In this space, discretion is important. You build quietly and let the work speak when it is ready,” he said.
As Nigeria’s digital economy continues to expand, stakeholders say initiatives such as Dogemeatpay could play a role in redefining how local creatives engage with global financial systems, particularly if regulatory and adoption challenges are effectively addressed.
For Babajide, the ambition remains clear: to create infrastructure that enables Nigerian youths to compete and earn on a global scale.
