The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has released its timetable for the conduct of party primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party fixed May 23 for the exercise and pegging its presidential expression of interest and nomination forms at a combined ₦75 million.
In a statement issued on Monday by Ejimofor Opara, the party’s national publicity secretary, the schedule was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) timetable and provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.
According to the party, the sale and submission of expression of interest forms will run from April 20 to May 8, while screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 11 for national assembly candidates, may 12 for state assembly hopefuls, and May 13 for governorship aspirants.
Opara explained that nomination forms will be available between May 14 and May 21, ahead of the primaries fixed for May 23, which will be conducted across wards using the Option A4 voting system. Appeals arising from the process are expected to be addressed on May 28.
He disclosed that the cost structure has been set at ₦25 million for presidential expression of interest forms, ₦6 million for Senate, ₦4 million for House of Representatives, ₦10 million for governorship, and ₦2 million for State Assembly tickets.
For nomination forms, aspirants will pay ₦50 million for the presidency, ₦15 million for Senate, ₦12 million for the House of Representatives, ₦25 million for governorship, and ₦6 million for State Assembly seats.
This brings the total cost for presidential aspirants to ₦75 million.
Opara said aspirants must first obtain and submit expression of interest forms and pass screening before qualifying to purchase nomination forms.
He added that the adoption of the Option A4 voting method was intended to promote transparency and reduce electoral malpractice in the party’s internal processes, describing the timetable as a key milestone in APGA’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
