Vihiga: Sorrow as angry wife kills husband after heated disagreement over KSh 30

  • What started as a disagreement over a seemingly negligible amount has left one man dead and his wife in custody
  • It all began when a Vihiga man named Abdalla got into a confrontation with his wife over KSh 30, after which he stabbed him
  • The man succumbed to his injuries while the suspect was arrested, leaving behind young children who now have no parents

Chanzuvu village in Vihiga County has been left in shock after a minor domestic disagreement escalated into a fatal incident, claiming the life of a man identified as Abdala.

The incident, which occurred in Mbihi sub-location, has stunned residents who are struggling to come to terms with how a dispute over just KSh 30 could end so tragically.

What happened to the suspect?

A source told NgGossips that the suspect, now in police custody at Mbale Police Station, had allegedly given KSh 50 to her husband the day before.

The directive was that he would use KSh 20 out of it to pay for their phone charging services, then return the balance to her.

However, when the man returned home, he explained that he had used the KSh 30 but would repay it the following day when he returned from work.

“That would be the start of a heated disagreement between the couple that escalated late into the night, so much that they slept in different rooms,” the source said.

How Vihiga wife killed hubby

Just when the family members thought the fight was over, the wife woke up on Sunday, April 12, and stabbed the man.

Initially, it looked like a small wound, but the severity of the attack came to the fore when the man bled to death shortly afterwards.

“Kijana mwenye ameuawa anaitwa Abdala, baba wa marehemu aliitwa Bakari Juma,” the source added, confirming the identity of the deceased.

Local authorities have since launched investigations into the matter, as the suspect remains detained pending further legal action.

Neighbours described the couple as ordinary residents, making the incident even more difficult to comprehend.

Many expressed disbelief that such a small amount of money could ignite a conflict with such devastating consequences.

Nyeri baby killed by cousin

In Nyeri County, a family in Ngondo village, Tetu Constituency, is in mourning following the tragic murder of their 20-month-old baby.

Mary Wanjiru Muhinja was reportedly killed by her cousin, Linet Wangeci, while her mother had stepped out of the compound to fetch grass for their goats.

According to family accounts, the mother, Ann Mwandaki, returned home and discovered that the child was missing.

After days of searching, Wangeci reportedly admitted to killing the baby and dumping her body in the River Gura.
