Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has pegged its presidential nomination form at N51 million as it unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections.

According to the document signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar M. Bature, the N51 million fee comprises N1 million for the Expression of Interest form and N50 million for the Nomination form.

The party said the timetable aligns with provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) schedule for the 2027 polls.

The schedule shows that the sale of forms commenced on April 21, 2026, while the last day for submission of completed forms is May 9, 2026.

Screening of aspirants across various categories is slated to begin on May 11, 2026, starting with State Assembly aspirants, followed by National Assembly, governorship, and presidential hopefuls.

Appeals arising from the screening exercise will be heard between May 13 and May 14, 2026.

The PDP fixed its presidential primary election for May 18, 2026, while the House of Representatives primaries will hold on May 21, and Senate primaries on May 23. State House of Assembly primaries are scheduled for May 25, while governorship primaries will take place on May 27. Appeals across all categories will be concluded by May 30, 2026.

The party added that female aspirants are only required to pay for the Expression of Interest forms across all categories, effectively waiving the nomination fees for women.
