As the state gets ready for elections, Ogun Governor Abiodun and former Governor Osoba introduce Tinubu to Yayi Adeola, an APC candidate for governor.
At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and former governor Olusegun Osoba introduced Olamilekan “Yayi” Adeola, the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The gathering is seen as a strategic conference in advance of Ogun State’s upcoming governorship election.
Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, recently emerged as the APC’s candidate, positioning him as the party’s flagbearer in what is expected to be a closely watched contest. The presentation to the President underscores efforts by key party leaders in Ogun State to consolidate support within the ruling party and align with the national leadership ahead of the polls.
Governor Abiodun and Osoba are influential figures within the APC in Ogun, and their joint appearance with the candidate signals unity among major stakeholders in the state’s political structure.
Political observers note that such high-level endorsements and consultations are a common feature of Nigeria’s electoral process, often aimed at strengthening party cohesion and securing federal backing for state-level contests.
In addition, the visit coincides with larger political party realignments and preparations for the upcoming election cycle, with parties stepping up internal coordination and outreach to important power centers.
