Ngong woman looking for Kitale dad who left 32 years ago, shares how stepdad mistreated her

Ngong, Kenya: Joyce Wangari is a young woman in pain, as she has never set eyes on her father, 32 years after he parted ways with her mother.

Speaking to NgGossips, the young woman said that all her life she had been living with her grandmother, who took great care of her and has never enjoyed the love of a father or living with a mother in a nuclear family set-up.

“After high school, I was told that I had to move from my grandmother’s house and go to live with my mother, who is a married woman with other children,” she said.

“It was not easy being integrated into the family, and that is all because of my stepfather, who was very hostile to me; life was very difficult in the family. At one point, my father found me with my siblings, and he asked them to leave the room, then demanded that I sleep with him,” said Wangari.

Wangari said that his menacing demeanour and words made her afraid, but it was his words that landed on her like a whip lash when he declared that he was not her father and that she should, therefore, sleep with him.

What happened between Wangari and stepfather?

It all dawned on her, and everything became clear; she could now tell why she was being treated differently from the others in the family.

“I ran into my step-brothers’ house and told them that our drunk father wanted to beat up, and they understood me. Then I hid under the bed, and he left. I told my mother about the incident, but she told me that she doesn’t want to hear such news and turned her back on me,” said Wangari.

The young woman also said that her mother did not shed any light on her father; his name, the last time she saw him or exact place, which left the young lady in a very precarious situation.

Why is Wangari okay but not okay?

Wangari has since moved from her stepfather’s house, and she is okay and doing well in her marriage. She is, however, not okay because she misses her father and still needs the love of her father.

” I have been through so much in this life, she said tearfully; I just need to go meet him and know my roots as well as where I came from,” said the woman in tears.

In another story, Aska Ndatekago Orlale was excited to finally find her Kenyan roots and meet her paternal relatives, who gladly welcomed her.

The woman, who had been looking for her father for over 32 years, connected with family and explored her father’s legacy in Kenya over 14 days.

The emotional reunion that also occured at her father’s gravesite marked a very deep moment of connection to her heritage as well as many people being glad that she finally found her roots.
