Kasarani man closes down business a year after investing KSh 1m: "It was tough"

A Kasarani man has painfully shut down his business a year after he started it, citing the tough business environment that made it impossible to operate and make a profit.

Kevin, a 24-year-old, disclosed that he invested over KSh 1m from his savings to set up a hotel business in Kasarani, hoping to get a return on his investment to build his future.

Speaking to NgGossips, the young man said his business started crumbling as soon as he started it, as he would go days without getting customers, and this broke his heart.

“The lack of clients and the tough business environment made succeeding in the business extremely difficult. I thought the coming days would be better, but sadly, they only got worse, and though I hit the one-year mark, the business could not sustain itself. I had to close down,” he said.

In a TikTok video, he shared a heartbreaking moment of carrying his belongings from the hotel before it closed down, a decision he admits was not easy to make.

“I have since gone back to my home in Embu, but I hope to come back stronger. I plead with anyone who can help me get on my feet again to help me,” he added.

In other news, a Nakuru businesswoman also received help from Kenyans after she made an emotional video decrying the lack of customers.

The woman noted that she was on the verge of closing down her restaurant due to a lack of customers.

Luckily, many Kenyans helped her and went to dine at her eatery.
