Social media commentator and media personality Gehgeh has responded to critics who questioned his stance on supporting family members financially, insisting that he prioritizes self-preservation and realistic assistance over total sacrifice.
In a statement that has sparked widespread reactions online, Gehgeh said, “I’m wicked. I won’t help anybody in a way that will make me need help from them later. I’ll give my best, not my all, even to family.”
He explained that while he is willing to support loved ones, he refuses to do so in a way that would leave him financially vulnerable or dependent on others in the future.
Drawing a comparison with Nigerian music star Asake, Gehgeh noted that the singer only recently bought cars for his parents despite having enjoyed several years of success.
According to him, “Asake has been successful for over four years, and it’s only this year he bought cars for his father and mother.”
Gehgeh further stated that his current financial position does not yet allow him to completely transform his family’s economic situation, adding, “I don’t have enough money to lift my family out of poverty.”
