Marolyne Anyango Ochieng told NgGossips that she is a clinical officer in Kisumu County, surviving on locum work to make ends meet and care for her children.
She shared that she has been left feeling hopeless after developing a heart-related condition that requires her to raise at least KSh 300,000 every month for monitoring.
“I am sharing my story with hope as I seek support during a challenging time in my health journey. I need funds for an Implantable Loop Recorder due to ongoing heart-related symptoms that have not been fully diagnosed,” said Anyango.

What condition is the clinical officer suffering from?
The mother of three revealed that she has been experiencing recurring episodes of dizziness, palpitations, and extreme fatigue.
She later sought medical attention and was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse and anaemia.
Despite ongoing treatment and follow-up, her symptoms have persisted and, at times, interfere with her ability to work and care for her children.
The single mother noted that she has undergone several medical tests and evaluations, but the exact cause of her symptoms has not yet been identified.
As a result, her doctors recommended the use of an Implantable Loop Recorder to continuously monitor her heart rhythm and help guide an accurate diagnosis.
“I have undergone several medical evaluations, including ECHO, ECGs, a 72-hour Holter monitor, and blood tests. Following medical review, my doctors have recommended further cardiac monitoring using an Implantable Loop Recorder. This device will continuously monitor my heart rhythm over time and help guide accurate diagnosis and treatment,” she explained.

How much does the Implantable Loop Recorder cost?
The mother of three stated that the total cost of the device is approximately KSh 3.6 million for one year (about KSh 300,000 per month).
However, the cost of treatment after monitoring remains unknown and will depend on the findings.
Despite remaining hopeful for a full recovery, Anyango is worried about raising the required amount given her limited income.
She has appealed to Kenyans of goodwill and well-wishers to help her raise the funds and give her a fighting chance.
“This step is crucial in helping me understand my condition and prevent possible serious complications. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping me access the care I urgently need. Your support will not only improve my health but also enable me to continue providing for my children and serving others in my profession. I remain hopeful and trust in God’s promise in Psalm 46:1, that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble,” she said.
