The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced the temporary shutdown of its company registration portal following a cyberattack on its database.
The commission disclosed this in a statement on its official X handle, noting that the breach affected millions of data points.
It said the portal would be unavailable for three days, from midnight of April 17 to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026.
The CAC explained that the shutdown was necessary to contain the incident and carry out maintenance on its systems.
The agency added that it is collaborating with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to address the situation and prevent further breaches.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission has commenced an investigation into the incident.
The development means that business registration and other services on the portal will be temporarily inaccessible to users within the period.
