A fresh wave of concern has emerged online following the circulation of a disturbing video showing kidnapped Plateau State youth, John Arum, as his abductors demand the remaining balance of a ransom allegedly set at ₦10 million.
In the video, which has been widely shared across social media platforms today Monday, the abductors are seen interviewing Arum in what appears to be a controlled setting, claiming it serves as proof that he is still alive.
The footage also appears aimed at dispelling earlier rumours circulating online that the victim had been killed.
The armed captors, speaking in the video, insisted that ₦6 million had already been paid out of the total ransom demand, leaving a balance of ₦4 million.
They issued a stern warning that failure to complete the payment could result in the killing of the young man.

In the same video, John Arum is heard speaking under apparent duress. “I am alive, I have not been killed,” he says.
He further echoes the claim that part of the ransom has been paid, stating that ₦6 million was received and urging efforts to raise the remaining ₦4 million “to save his life.”
