The All Progressives Congress has pushed back against what it described as “deliberate attempts” by opposition figures to discredit the achievements of President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the administration’s record speaks for itself.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Sokoto, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the APC National Chairman, Yusuf Dingyadi, accused critics—particularly from rival parties—of spreading “false and unfounded claims” on social media to undermine the President’s performance.
“These groups are prioritising selfish interests over patriotism, national peace, and collective progress.
“The deliberate use of misinformation and propaganda to tarnish the administration’s achievements, especially in Northern Nigeria, is both misleading and unacceptable,” Dingyadi said.
He maintained that the Tinubu administration has recorded progress across key sectors, including security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and healthcare.
“Nigerians should recognise the improved security situation, ongoing development projects, and reforms aimed at stabilising the economy.
“These efforts are designed to uplift lives and lay a solid foundation for sustainable growth,” he said.
Dingyadi also criticised what he described as “uncivil rhetoric” by opponents, warning against the use of vulgar language, baseless condemnation, and divisive narratives.
“Constructive engagement is expected from patriotic citizens, particularly when considering the challenges inherited by this administration,” he added.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment, he said the APC under its current leadership would continue to pursue policies aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.
“We remain focused on delivering meaningful development and will not be distracted by misinformation. Nigerians must remain vigilant against attempts to mislead them for political gain,” he said.
