Young Ebonyi Businessmen Forum, Lagos State Chapter, has said Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State deserves a second term in office to enable him complete all his signature projects being executed across the state.
The association, which endorsed Nwifuru for a second term and Dr Christian Nwali to represent Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone in 2027, said the governor had restored peace in previously war-torn areas.
Arising from its quarterly meeting in Lagos, the association praised the governor for prioritising peace above all else, noting that nothing can be achieved in a crisis-ridden community or state.
President of the association, Jeremiah Nworu, who recently trekked from Lagos to Abakaliki in appreciation, described him as a unique leader, stating that while others in the past tolerated communal clashes for political reasons, Nwifuru has built peace and channelled security votes into infrastructure development.
Nworu said: “It is on record that no other governor in the entire region has achieved half of what the governor has accomplished in just his first term, particularly in security, human capital development, education, and other critical areas of progress in the state.”
He added that leadership positions should be reserved for individuals with verifiable records of success, describing Dr Nwali as an accomplished businessman and well-educated leader.
Meanwhile, the association also commended Nwali for accepting to serve the people of Ebonyi Central at the National Assembly.
The group cautioned that Ebonyi people should desist from electing unexposed, unskilled and poorly educated individuals who end up disgracing the state at the National Assembly, insisting that legislative duties are a critical aspect of governance and development best handled by highly competent individuals.
