The Nigeria Police Force on Saturday commissioned 1,187 cadets of Regular Course 7 as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), following their completion of a five-year academic and professional training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
The Passing Out Parade (POP), held on 29 November 2025, was presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. The ceremony marked the culmination of an intensive training course that earned each cadet a Bachelor’s degree alongside full police officer commissioning.
President Tinubu, in his address, congratulated the officers and urged them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights as they begin their policing careers. He reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to comprehensive police reforms, improved welfare, and enhanced operational capacity across the force.
The high-profile event was attended by dignitaries including Shanta Emily Knowles, Head of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf; representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs; members of the National Assembly; senior security chiefs; traditional and religious leaders; parents and well-wishers.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the graduating officers for their discipline and perseverance throughout their training. He reminded them that the foundation of effective policing lies in character, professionalism, and loyalty to duty, urging them to remain committed to protecting lives and property and to strengthening public trust in the police.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its resolve to continue producing highly trained and educated officers capable of responding to the nation’s evolving security challenges.
