Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Johannesburg, South Africa, for Luanda, Angola, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu at the forthcoming AU-EU Summit.
Shettima’s departure follows the conclusion of his engagements at the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit in South Africa.
In a statement on Sunday, his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, said the AU-EU meeting, scheduled for 24–25 November 2025, will bring together Heads of State and Government from both unions for the seventh edition of the high-level dialogue.
The summit in Luanda will feature sessions involving young leaders, innovators, and civil society organisations from both continents, focusing on solutions to shared global and regional challenges.
Discussions are expected to generate recommendations on climate change, inclusive development, infrastructure growth, digital economy expansion, the creative industry, manufacturing, and agribusiness.
The vice president is expected to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the summit.
