Speaking during an interview on Trust TV on Friday, Dalung noted that his assessment of Edun was based on personal knowledge and direct acquaintance.
He stated that he had interacted with him closely enough to form a clear judgment about his character and approach to public service.
Dalung further pointed out that Edun’s time in office may have been marked by attempts to navigate the complexities of governance while maintaining his ethical standards.
He implied that such efforts could only be sustained for a limited period under the prevailing conditions.
He added that the situation reached a stage where maintaining personal integrity within that framework became increasingly difficult, making it untenable for Edun to continue in his role.
The development, he suggested, reflected the strain between individual values and systemic pressures.
“Wale Edun is somebody who has integrity. He’s a misfit into a political arrangement like the one we have in place.
“I think he tolerated it to the extent that his integrity was going to break and he had to throw in the towel,” he said…....…
