U.S. President Donald J. Trump has renewed calls for the construction of a high-security ballroom within the White House, citing a recent security incident as justification for the project.
In a strongly worded statement, Trump argued that the event “would never have happened” if the proposed ballroom—described as a “militarily top secret” facility—had already been completed within the White House grounds.
He emphasized that the planned structure is designed with the highest level of security features, including restricted access and elimination of vulnerabilities associated with external venues or buildings with unsecured overhead spaces.
Trump also took aim at an ongoing legal challenge against the project, dismissing it as “ridiculous” and claiming the plaintiff lacks the legal standing to halt construction. He called for the lawsuit to be dropped immediately, warning that no obstacles should delay what he described as a critical national security infrastructure.
According to Trump, the ballroom project remains on budget and ahead of schedule, and is essential to ensuring safer hosting of high-profile government events in the future.
