Tucker Carlson is launching his own rogue book imprint that “nobody else will publish,” featuring controversial titles from the likes of Russell Brand and Milo Yiannopoulos.
Carlson, who has turned on his former friend President Donald Trump over his staunch opposition to the Iran war, has landed his own imprint — Tucker Carlson Books — with Skyhorse Publishing, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The titles slated for release under the former Fox News host’s imprint include Brand’s upcoming book How To Become a Christian In Seven Days and Ex Gay by far-right provocateur Yiannopoulos.
Skyhorse publisher Tony Lyons told the WSJ that Carlson’s imprint would provide “a platform to things that would, in many cases, be shut down, be censored, and be covered over by propaganda.”
“Tony will publish any book as long as it has inherent value,” Carlson said in an interview with the newspaper. “If it’s saying something interesting, if it’s well argued, if it’s got relevant facts, if it’s nicely written. He’s just looking for books that nobody else will publish.”
Lyons said his publishing house offers “free speech” works that other companies wouldn’t publish. Other authors published under Skyhorse include Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, first lady Melania Trump and Woody Allen.
Brand is awaiting trial in the U.K. on rape and sexual assault charges, which he denies. Six women have made complaints regarding alleged incidents between 1999 and 2009.
Yiannopoulos resigned from the right-wing news site Breitbart News in 2017 after footage resurfaced where he appeared to condone sexual relationships between men and underage boys. He apologized at the time and said he had been a victim of sexual abuse.
The right-wing figure was permanently banned from Facebook and Twitter in 2019 for breaking hate speech rules.
“Books always stand on their own,” Lyons told the WSJ. “We’re not trying to be a judge or a jury. We’re trying to publish books that show openness to ideas, that don’t shame people or punish dissent and encourage debate.”
Since Carlson was fired from Fox News in 2023, he has gone on to launch his own digital media company. He has hosted highly controversial guests on his streaming show, including white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
In recent weeks, Carlson became one of several MAGA acolytes who have split from the president over the ongoing conflict in Iran.
Trump described Carlson and right-wing commentators Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones as having “Low IQs” — one of the president’s go-to attacks on his enemies.
Carlson, once a frequent and fervent supporter of the president, launched a new line of merchandise, including baseball caps bearing the phrase “LOW IQ,” in an apparent retaliation to the insults.
