Sam Amadi, a former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC and a staunch supporter of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has admitted that President Bola Tinubu is unarguably a smart politician.
Amadi in a post on his official X handle, said though the president may be poor in governance, he “scores above 70% in political scheming”.
He pointed out how the president lured federal legislators and governors to his side ahead of his 2027 re-election bid.
Amadi wrote, “President Tinubu is unarguably a smart politician. He knows the game of Nigerian politics. He can beg and can draw blood when he needs to.
“Yes, he has not been a good president in terms of governance in the last 2-3 years. But he scores above 70% in political scheming.
“Ok, he lured federal legislators to come over to his party. Now he leaves them stranded. He rightly chooses the Governors who have what it takes for the ground operations of winning elections in Nigeria illegitimately.
“Meanwhile, the legislators have delivered on a bad electoral law that helps him. That is political smartness. Even if it’s self-serving”.
