Nakuru governor Susan Kihika has thanked her friends for supporting her after giving birth to her twins.

She noted that one year ago, she came back to Kenya with her twins, Jay and Jon, accompanied by her family and friends.

“Psalm 116:12 What shall I render unto Jehovah, [for] all his benefits towards me? Exactly one year ago today, Sam and I came back home with our precious bundles of joy (Jay and Jon), accompanied by family and wonderful friends who sacrificed their time and resources to assist us in getting the boys home amidst so much ‘noise’, yet they surrounded us with so much unconditional love!”
The county boss noted that the past year had been one of intense love in her household, and she would never trade it for anything.
She thanked her stepchildren and daughter for their support.
“It’s been a year of immeasurable joy, lots of hugs and kisses and intense love in our household. I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Our older children, Tiffany, Jesse, Ashley & Abby have been the biggest blessings with their great love and care for their adorable brothers. The Lord has really been good to us,” she said.
She also thanked her friends Millicent Omanga, Irene Njoki, Veronica Maina and Rahab Mjami for being her ride or dies.
“To my girlies, Millicent Omanga – Mama Miradi; Mrembo Irene Njoki; Veronica W. Maina and Rahab Mukami, Nyeri county women rep, accept your flowers, feel appreciated and always know that I love you to infinity. You are the family that I got to choose. Thanks for being my ride-or-die through so many ups and downs. I really wanted to acknowledge you publicly. May the Lord supply all your needs – emotional, spiritual or physical according to his glorious riches (Philippians 4:19). To Cecily Mbarire, EGH, you are special and forever appreciated. Without you, I’m not sure we would have had a success story. You are a true sister,” she said.

She thanked women leaders who supported her throughout the journey, which received a lot of criticism from fellow politicians and ordinary Kenyans.
“To the Women MPs and senators, thank you for standing in the gap and pushing back when the toxicity almost carried the day. Thank you for believing in me and being a sister’s keeper. To my G7 sisters and PSs, thanks for your visits and wonderful company to check on us, and feel appreciated. For the very many friends who checked on us, sent us positive messages, and said a prayer for us when the madness almost overwhelmed us, I have always wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you!”
She also shared a photo of her husband holding her belly, which melted hearts on social media.
