Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has appealed to the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to reconsider plans to file criminal charges against former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and others over the 2018 Offa robbery incident.
In a statement shared publicly, Sani described the governor as a “friend and brother,” urging restraint and caution in the exercise of power. He warned against actions that could be perceived as politically motivated, emphasizing that leadership decisions today could have consequences in the future.
Drawing from personal experience, Sani recounted how he was previously “framed and dragged to five different High Courts in Kaduna,” where he faced both civil and criminal charges before being vindicated.
“The Lord saved me,” he stated, adding that power should always be exercised with humility and foresight.
The appeal comes amid renewed discussions surrounding the 2018 Offa robbery case, a high-profile incident that drew national attention and led to multiple arrests and investigations.
Sani concluded his message with a cautionary note: “Tomorrow is not far from today,” urging the governor to weigh the long-term implications of pursuing the charges.
