The command’s spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu, said that “no such incident has occurred in any of its units.”
According to Ndukwe, the command is aware of a viral video alleging unlawful detention and killing of suspects in the SWAT Unit, Enugu, describing the claims as false and an attempt at misinformation.
The spokesman said that preliminary findings indicate that the video is misleading, unverified, and deliberately intended to misinform the public and undermine confidence in the police.
He reiterated that all suspects in custody are treated in accordance with the law and with due respect for their fundamental human rights.
