An Ogun State Magistrate Court sitting in Ijebu Imushin has remanded a 45-year-old woman, Taiwo Adeoye, at the Ijebu Ode Correctional Centre after she was charged by the police for allegedly pouring hot water on her 13-year-old niece, Modinat Adeoye, causing grievous bodily injuries.
The court ordered her remand pending the perfection of the N3m bail granted to her.
The spokesperson for the state Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement made available to NGGOSSIPS Metro on Sunday.
Babaseyi said the suspect was arrested for allegedly inflicting grievous injuries on the teenager in Ijebu Imusin after pouring hot water on her for allegedly “following men around.”

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly poured hot water on the victim, who is her niece and resides with her, resulting in severe burns on parts of the victim’s body.
“Upon receipt of the report, detectives swiftly visited the scene, rescued the victim, and ensured her immediate transfer to a medical facility, where she is currently receiving treatment.”
