The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, Oluwaseun Falaye, has commissioned an Employees’ Compensation Scheme, ECS, Help Desk at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Falaye said the initiative is aimed at institutionalising care, protection, and dignity for civil servants, stressing that it reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to workers’ welfare and safety.
Describing the development as a milestone, he said the Help Desk would improve social security delivery and transform policy into tangible impact within the public service.
He explained that the platform, the first of its kind, integrates federal civil servants into the compensation scheme through a structured payroll system, ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficient claims processing.
According to him, the Help Desk will function as a one-stop service hub, providing information, guidance, claims support, and prompt resolution of issues, while also enhancing coordination across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs.
“With this structure, we are delivering a system that is accessible, responsive, transparent, and efficient,” Falaye said, adding that the reform is designed to build a reliable welfare system from the ground up.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for prioritising workers’ welfare and lauded the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson Jack, for her support in actualising the initiative.
In her remarks, Walson Jack described the development as historic, noting that it marks the realisation of a long-awaited reform aimed at strengthening civil servants’ welfare.
The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the NSITF and the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to enhance collaboration in implementing the scheme.
