The Matchday 35 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) between Bendel Insurance FC and Wikki Tourists FC has been rescheduled to Sunday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The development was conveyed to the two teams in a circular signed by the league’s Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi.
It was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin.
The circular was issued to all participating clubs in the NPFL.
The match, earlier scheduled for Saturday in Lafia, will now kick off at 1pm at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.
According to the directive, all 20 NPFL teams are to play their fixtures on the same day.
The Insurance versus Wikki Tourists encounter will open proceedings at the venue, ahead of Plateau United’s clash with Kun Khalifat FC scheduled for 3pm, while other matches will commence at 4pm.
Owumi stated that the adjustment followed the league’s earlier decision to relocate Plateau United’s home matches to Lafia due to security concerns.
NAN reports that Bendel Insurance go into the match on the back of a 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors, while Wikki Tourists, who are battling relegation, occupy the 18th position on the table with 40 points.
Bendel Insurance, who are currently seventh with 49 points, defeated Wikki Tourists 3-0 in their first-round encounter in Benin.
