The Nigerian movie industry has been thrown into mourning following reports that popular Nollywood actor Solomon Akiyesi has passed away.
According to multiple reports, the actor reportedly died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday night after retiring to bed and not waking up the following morning. It was further reported that his wife confirmed the sad development to family members and close associates.
Solomon Akiyesi was known for his appearances in several Nollywood productions and built a reputation as an actor, director, and entrepreneur over the years.
He featured in movies such as Desperate Ladies, Pretty Liars, Bridge of Contract, and Heart of a Saint, among others. Tributes have already started pouring in from fans, colleagues, and members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
At the time of filing this report, details regarding burial arrangements had not yet been officially announced by the family.
