Netflix has announced a new UK-based football documentary series featuring stories on Jamie Vardy, Liverpool’s Champions League comeback, and Vinnie Jones.
The three-part series is part of the platform’s UNTOLD anthology and will explore defining moments and personalities in English football.
The first episode, set for release on May 12, focuses on Vardy’s rise from non-league football to Premier League success with Leicester City.
It traces his record £1 million move from non-league football and his role in the club’s title-winning campaign.
The documentary also examines off-field controversies, including media attention surrounding his family.
The second instalment, arriving on May 19, revisits Liverpool’s 2005 UEFA Champions League final comeback against AC Milan in Istanbul.
The match saw Liverpool recover from a 3-0 deficit at half-time to draw level before winning on penalties.
Director Matthew Rudge said the film aims to provide the “definitive story” of the final, featuring new insights from players including Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Xabi Alonso and Dietmar Hamann.
The final episode, scheduled for May 26, centres on Jones, focusing on his time with Wimbledon’s “Crazy Gang” and the fallout from a controversial 1992 video highlighting his aggressive playing style. It also explores his transition into an acting career.
The series adds to Netflix’s growing catalogue of sports documentaries, highlighting major moments and personalities that have shaped football history.
